To All Clubs, Members, Umpires and Respective Families,
On behalf of the VTCA Board of Management I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and more importantly, Safe New Year. While we have had a shortened run into Christmas cricket wise, I am sure you all are feeling a level of exhaustion from the year we have just endured.
After the New Year break we launch into a busy cricket schedule so enjoy your festive season and have a wonderful break with your respective families. Hopefully by the time cricket rolls around again, you all are renewed, refreshed and ready for some tough, competitive games ahead.
Please remember if you are celebrating the festive period with a few ales or wines, ensure you have a designated driver or your friendly local Uber driver on speed dial. We would hate to start a promising new year with further heartbreak.
Thankfully the year that was 2020 is coming to a close, it has been one in which we have been severely tested not only as individuals but as a society in general. It has a turbulent year for all of us, more so for some who who have been directly impacted by the debilitating effects of the Covid-19 virus, others have been affected indirectly through the loss of loved ones or close friends while others have suffered financially through loss of income through job or business losses.
I implore you all to spare a thought or two over this festive season for those who may have suffered over this year and hope that they find 2021 to be a better year ahead. May we never have to experience a year like the one we are departing.
Again enjoy your break and take care all.
Steve McNamara
